Outdoor Skills I: Fire Lighting

Learn and practice a variety of fire lighting techniques to enable you to start a fire in any weather. Topics include the difference between tinder and kindling, how to collect materials responsibly from the environment and how to
build a fire that will provide sufficient warmth and comfort to survive in the bush. Minimal impact camping concepts will be a guiding theme for the program.

*Girls will need warm outdoor clothes including boots that allow them to enjoy being outside for the full day.  Parents must provide transportation to & from Strathcona Wilderness Centre.
